Your senior session is a time to capture your last few memories before graduating and entering the adult world. Your senior pictures should capture your joy, happiness, and pride. It should be a time of celebration and laughs, not a time filled with awkward poses and half-hearted smiles.

Trust me, I have had my fair share of awkward sessions, and I don’t want your session to be that way! I want us to have a fun senior session and talk about your dreams, laugh about your favorite high school memories, and to dance like nobody is watching! So, here are a few of my favorite tips to ensure that your session will be as stress-free and as FUN as possible!

Location, Location, Location!

It is so important that we choose a location that makes you feel comfortable! If you have a pool in your backyard that you spend a lot of time around and would like some pictures there, then let’s do it! If you have horses at your favorite stable, then let’s go there! Wherever you feel comfortable and confident sets the stage for your session! We can always go to different, more adventurous locations later but I always recommend starting in a place where you’re comfortable and go from there!

Props are ALWAYS Fun!!!

Props are always a great way to bring some fun to your session! While I have so much biodegradable confetti and a bubble gun, there are so many props that you can bring to your session! If you are an athlete, bring your football or baseball or whatever sport you play! If you want to have some fun, bring some flowers! The purpose of your senior session is to showcase what makes you the incredible human you are!

Have Fun with Your Outfits!

Some photographers will recommend neutral colors, nothing too crazy, keep it simple. However, those are NOT my recommendations! I always recommend for my seniors to wear whatever makes them feel most excited and confident! If you want to wear a long dress, then rock that dress! If you want to wear a painter’s suit, then wear it! Again, the common theme here is that I want you to have as much fun as possible and this is one of the many ways we can ensure that you’ll have the best session ever to remember your senior year!

Let’s Dance!

The last, and most exciting, recommendation I have for my seniors is to make a playlist! I bring a wireless speaker to my sessions and it is a BLAST! We have so much fun dancing, and it makes for some really fun and awesome pictures!
