Best Props For Graduation Photos

Graduation photos are always some of my favorite to be apart of, especially when we’re able to let loose and have fun! We can have even more fun with props. In my time as a senior photographer I have experimented with a lot different things, and I am here to tell you what the best of the best are! The most fun, the ones that make the best photos, and the all around fan favorites! Let’s not waste anymore time, let’s get to it!

Grad Cap

What a classic! Using your graduation cap as a prop is so easy and iconic. Not to mention, there are a ton of different ways to use it. Throwing your cap in the air in front of your college of campus is a must! I have some seniors that like to hide behind their cap with just their eyes peeking out at the top. Or my personal favorite, throwing the cap at the camera! I have had so many grad caps thrown at me, but it is all worth it for the photos.

Pop the Champagne!

You just studied your tail off for the past four years, you deserve a little bubbly! I love how these graduation photos turn out because there is so much life and movement in them. It is a really exciting way to loosen up and get more comfortable in front of the camera. But, you want to know a secret? I don’t actually use champagne! I typically will use sparkling water. It is more affordable and campus friendly.

Confetti Cannon

What better way to celebrate graduating than a confetti blasted into the air?! That’s right. Let’s get the party started with a confetti cannon! My favorite thing about confetti cannons has to be how bright and happy the pictures turn out. I just love how much color it adds to the photo and how excited my seniors get when they POP! You can even get custom confetti cannons to match your schools colors!

These are my top three, all time favorite props to use for graduation photography! Each add so much life and personality to your graduation photos and are guaranteed to be a good time. We can do just your favorite one, or all of them. Either way I am totally down! Let’s chat and make it happen!
