A Studio Full of Seniors (and a Little Chaos)

There is something a little crazy about getting 24 seniors from 10 different schools into one studio at the same time, but somehow these sessions always end up being some of my favorites.

Back to School at Fawn Studio

For our Class of 2027 back-to-school rep session, we took over Fawn Studio in downtown Chattanooga for the afternoon. This was definitely not our first time together. These girls have been part of the Bess Pics rep team since our kickoff session back in February, so by the time we got to this shoot, they were already comfortable in front of my camera and had gotten to know each other a little too.

This year’s team has 24 reps from across Chattanooga and North Georgia, representing Baylor, Boyd Buchanan, Chattanooga Christian School, East Hamilton, Heritage, Hixson, Notre Dame, Ooltewah, Silverdale, and Soddy Daisy.

Why We Chose Fawn Studio

I knew I wanted to use Fawn Studio for this shoot because with a group this big, I needed SPACE. I also wanted somewhere downtown that would be pretty easy for everyone to get to, especially with girls coming from so many different schools and directions. It ended up being perfect for what I had in mind.

The Back to School Vibe

The whole idea for this shoot was that fun, back-to-school, finally-a-senior kind of feeling. Lots of denim, cropped tees, and outfits that felt cute without everybody looking exactly the same.

That is always really important to me with my rep shoots. I love having a theme and a general color palette, but I never want 24 girls to show up looking like they are wearing a uniform. One of my favorite parts of photographing seniors is seeing everyone’s personality come through, and even with everyone dressed for the same theme, every single girl brought something different to the pictures.

More Than Just a Rep Team

And that is also one of the things I love the most about having a senior rep team.

Obviously, yes, it is part of marketing Bess Pics. But it has become so much more than that.

These girls come from 10 different schools. Some of those schools are rivals. Some of them knew each other before this year, and some of them probably would have never met if it weren’t for this team. But then you put everybody in a studio together for a few hours, and suddenly they are hyping each other up, helping with pictures, and making friends with girls they may not have known before.

That is the part I really love.

Why These Days Matter

I could easily have a rep program where everyone just comes in, takes their own pictures and leaves, but that has never been what I wanted this to be. I want the girls on my team to actually have experiences together throughout their senior year.

And this was one of those days.

Twenty-four seniors. Ten schools. One studio. A whole lot of pictures.

And somehow it felt a lot more like hanging out than working.
